The varying sounds of wildlife are abundant in this little slice of wilderness here. Bordering reservation land on the east, this home feels as though it’s evolved with nature since the beginning of time. These homeowners share our love for wildlife preservation. Turkey and bird feeders are scattered throughout the property, and deer are welcomed to stop by. Our goal here was to enhance the existing beauty of the property, while providing essential screening of neighboring homes. Our woodland planting included shade loving, flowering shrubs and evergreens that would line the entire western side of the property, an area that was previously taken over by invasive plants and weeds. A pleasant surprise and opportunity arose when we discovered a large pile of small boulders that were previously smothered by the weeds. We repurposed the boulders as edging to the new garden beds, creating a natural boundary between the lawn and new plantings. The homeowners were ecstatic to sit on their patio and enjoy the stunning addition to their home.
