Party on the Lake
Wakefield, MA

With a view overlooking lake Quannapowitt, these newly settled homeowners were looking to create a space in their backyard that would invite guests to stay and enjoy gatherings throughout the year. At the same time, being an avid gardener, the homeowner desired garden spaces that would provide the opportunity to grow vegetables and allow for cut flowers to be harvested. With this in mind, we designed and built a set of patios, built into the slope of the hill, one for lounging and the other for dining and gardening. The patios are separated by a cutting bed and vegetable bed, with stairs connecting both patio spaces. A shade sail provides an escape from the summer sun, while the surrounding plants provide color and aromas, specifically designed to be conversation starters. The new living spaces enhance the existing view of the lake, while attracting friends and family to visit whenever possible.

“We reached out to Samatha’s Gardens to see what ideas they had to make our backyard space more usable and add garden space. They designed a wonderful space and connected us to some really great, professional contractors that completely transformed our backyard. Samantha’s Gardens worked closely with us to keep the project within our budget. The communication throughout the project was very good and the different contractors were all well coordinated to finish the project within the timeframe they laid out. We love the new space and would recommend Samantha’s Gardens to anyone looking for help with their landscaping.”
